This is a very interesting and individual guitar! The Ibanez R-400 "Ragtime Special" is a spruce/mahogany acoustic with full 24-fret (yes, two-octaves!) neck - at least for the top two strings - with styling very reminiscent of Django Reinhardt's Maccaferri Selmer acoustic. The compact body size - 15" lower bout and 4" body depth - and mahogany body contribute to a nice bright sound; perfect for Ragtime!
Built in Japan in 1981, the guitar shows incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail, with stunning inlay and binding work, and is fitted with very high-quality appointments. The guitar was fitted from new with a 9-volt active pickup system with 3-band EQ, making it totally usable for professional guitarists.
This one-owner guitar has been incredibly well looked after, and is so close to mint and unmarked it's not funny. It barely has any wear to its original frets (first few frets only show any wear at all), neck set is perfect, and it comes with its original case.
Get yourself a very individual, characterful and rare acoustic guitar! And it's extremely affordable too!
